So you have seen many reviews but still not convinced. that's mostly because the fear in you says 'Go for brand!'.
So i will try my very best to convince you that this isn't any different.
I wont be doing any specs spotting. you already know how it is. instead i'll tell how and where you can improve on the experience:-
1) The build of the phone is good and i like that there are pressure buttons like samsung since screen buttons sort of take up screen space.
2) The screen is crisp enough to make you feel good.( i had owned a samsung galaxy . Many flaws but screen was amazing!) don't worry about pix elation or such since the resolution is good the screen size. and video playback is nice without much clipping. sunlight legibility is okayish. i have seen worse.
3) The speed of the OS is wow! not ready for such satisfaction ;) but the Quad core would obviously help on such situation for the phone to be quick! mostly it doesn't lag. never in games. a little in browsing or quick movement between apps. i blame that on JB. so much features come with heavy requirements.
4) so this requirements hogs on battery. thankfully the battery is heavy. i actually call it the 'USP' of the piece. more than the Qcore.
5) JB!! i think this is what wooed me. trust me the google now is so awesome!! also some might hate this but the OS is highly bare. which is exactly what i wanted. don't really care for touchwiz or sense or whatever.
6) Dual sim part is pretty usual. nothing different than others.
7) camera was a surprise. the low light quality was okayish!(i have a dslr so cameras dont really excite me in these phones!)
In the end i would say every brand has horrible service.
XOLO still is decent with good approach. the new x1000 is also cool! companies like these try their best to make it through the market. companies like samsung also give faulty and cheap parts, you just don't know it because you believe in Samsung more than you should(after a year with samsung galaxy note i have understood that much about how Samsung doesn't care about existing customers. Believe in XOLO. it might pay off!!
IMPROVEMENTS:-
a) so less space means trouble. i advice going for a 32gb card(class 10!! common you are already saving much money!)
b) get a good headphone. go for sony or philips(sports ones preferrably)
c) get a bluetooth headset( asking too much?)
d) get an external DAC(fiio e6). this is for audiophiles only!
e) make the video in AVI mostly and use mx player. This is because the MKV demands too much from device! don't sweat but i would be careful once in a while. always keep the warranty and service centers in your books for quick check if any problems( there is an art of using a device irrespective of the brand!)

come on xolo q800 was a killer phone but now with the cheaper processor it doesnot make any sense buying this rather than buying this people will be happier with q700 which has the same processor and a bigger battery life. shame on xolo for downgrading q800 to q 700 level. and 8 mp camera is not a justification to sell 800 at a price higher than 700
